Fayçal Baghriche

Né en 1972 à Skikda, Algérie. Vit et travaille à Paris, France.

Fayçal Baghriche propose une vision du monde en prise avec le réel où se côtoient  histoire de l’art et culture populaire dont il interroge et détourne les signes. Ses interventions filmées dans l’espace public se jouent de manière burlesque de la figure de l’artiste démiurge et du culte actuel de la mise en scène de soi et du corps. Dans la vidéo Le Sens de la Marche, l’artiste se pose de manière littérale à contre-courant du monde. Fayçal Baghriche a récemment participé à la deuxième édition de la Force de l’Art et il a exposé dans de nombreux centres d’art et galeries en France et à l’étranger.

Born in 1972 in Skikda, Algeria. Lives and works in Paris, France.

Faycal Baghriche offers a view of the world in touch with reality which gathers art history and popular culture while questioning and circumventing signs. His videotaped interventions in public space are dealing in a burlesque way with the figure of the artist demiurge and the current self-worship and the cult of the body. In the video Le Sens de la Marche, the artist is literally walking against the current world. Fayçal Baghriche recently attended the second edition of the Force de l’Art and has exhibited in numerous art centers and galleries in France and abroad.
