À travers la représentation du corps endormi, Félix Fernández interroge les supports de l’identité dans le temps et dans l’espace. La vidéo Leap Beds I évoque le corps symbolique, métaphorique, mythique, organique et politique. Elle témoigne de la conception protéiforme que Félix Fernández applique à chaque pan de son travail. À partir du mouvement intime de draps blancs qui tour à tour dissimulent et exhibent le corps, le spectateur n’a de cesse de voir l’artiste tantôt endormi, tantôt éveillé, inquiet, immobile… Formant des paysages abstraits oniriques, ces draps évoquent des mondes particuliers et intimes.

Through the representation of the sleepy body, the artist questions the forms of identity in time and space. The video Leap Beds I relies to the symbolic, metaphorical, mythical, organic, political body; of that polyhedral vision that Felix Fernandez applies to each part of his work. From an intimate game with white sheets which are hiding then exhibiting the body, the viewer sees juxtaposed the sleepy and the wide-awake artist, anxious, immovable. By generating images of organic and abstract landscapes, the sheets evokes particular and intimate worlds.
