Diplômé à la Faculté des Arts de Belgrade en 2000, la pratique de Miodrag Krkobabic est orientée vers les nouvelles technologies et questionne les processus d’identification des individus. À travers ses installations, ses photographies, ses vidéos, il explore en effet l’art du portrait, voire de l’autoportrait, pour en sonder les fondements. Avec Personal? Id ? Card, récompensé en 2003 lors de la 14e édition du festival international d’art électronique à São Paulo (Brésil), il démontre « notre incapacité à nous saisir d’une identité personnelle » et interroge ainsi la notion d’identité personnelle comme collective.

Born in 1971 in Kraljevo, Serbia. Lives and works in Belgrade, Serbia.

Graduated from the Faculty of Arts of Belgrade in 2000, Miodrag Krkobabic’s work is mainly based on new technologies and questions the process of identification of individuals. Through installations, photographs, videos, he explores the fundaments of the art of portrait and selfportrait. With Personal? Id? Card, which was awarded in 2003 at the 14th edition of international festival of electronic art in Sao Paulo (Brazil), he shows « our incapacity of grasping our personal identity » and questions the notion of personal and global identity.
